Silverwood Plantation Front Entrance Gate System

​We have experienced an unusual amount of mechanical, electrical and system communication issues with our front entrance gate system.  During the HOA meeting on August 25, 2016, several residents expressed an interest in collecting bids to replace the entire gate system.  Other residents suggested the board explore other options – such as replacing components of existing system (the barrier arms).  The call box was replaced in 2016 after it was struck by a truck and the electrical boards in call box were replaced after being struck by lightning.
 
The cost of replacing the entire gate system was not in the 2016 SPHA budget, so Board could not authorize the expense for 2016.  It was decided that bids would be gathered for replacing entire gate system and bids for replacing only components that are causing majority of issues – the barrier gates.  The cost would be included in the 2017 budget so that newly elected board (November 2016) would have approved funds for replacement.
 
Obviously, this is an enormous expenditure for Silverwood Plantation homeowners so we are asking residents to carefully consider the options and respond to the survey.  Your input is invaluable!
